What an absorbing 'hobby' that ...Wonderful! What an absorbing 'hobby' that is. I take it it is a hobby, not a way of life? There are some white doves in the next village but I only have collared doves in my garden. They come to the bird table and feed with the other wild birds. Occasionally, I find a racing pigeon in the garden, come to rest with the other birds too, I feed and water it and a few days later it is usually gone. Sadly, there have also been birds which have simply died on me.
I have found that when I've phoned owners of 'lost' birds they are usually very grateful.Frikohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04277167831642088694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2119986262111403412.post-66741189977465226842009-08-18T11:50:14.963-07:002009-08-18T11:50:14.963-07:00I once came home and found a pigeon plus freshly l...I once came home and found a pigeon plus freshly laid egg on my doorstep. How I wish I'd had your very useful information, for I was shocked at the couldn't care less attitude of the local pigeon fancier who was my only logical port of call for help. He was way less than interested! Eventually, the bird flew off leaving the egg behind. I do love the photos of all the birds at Birdworld. I hope to visit there one day.Rustic Pumpkinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07335714529878600216noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2119986262111403412.post-59138935427577087932009-08-18T11:34:43.671-07:002009-08-18T11:34:43.671-07:00Hi there Faith! No Nero yet? :( Oh sorry, I read through here so fast hoping he had returned.

Then I went back and had a good long look at the Purple Roller and other beauties--but that one especially is gorgeous. This is great I can click on the photo and it enlarges to really see the detail. Just gorgeous! They all are, really.

Funny thing. The other day I was sitting out on the deck and for a change it was the doves turn to scare me he/she came and landed on the edge of the roof. I just didn't expect it. Anyway, those and the jays seem to be around more. Well, hummingbirds too.

Take care, Faith :)
xxx seashellKimberlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18367327961235142473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2119986262111403412.post-35194374362329113902009-08-18T10:31:29.551-07:002009-08-18T10:31:29.551-07:00Thanks Yan!Thanks Yan!Faith https://www.blogger.com/profile/04672728248961388984noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2119986262111403412.post-74936704930338334562009-08-18T07:54:21.636-07:002009-08-18T07:54:21.636-07:00Really interesting blog Faith & some lovely pi...Really interesting blog Faith & some lovely pictures!Yan21https://www.blogger.com/profile/18430059251211754745noreply@blogger.com
